Air Canada to fly Dreamliner to Delhi

First direct link between Canada and India to commence in November 2015

Air Canada will commence direct Dreamliner flights to Delhi next year.

Scheduled to start in November 2015, the new Toronto-Delhi route will be the first to be operated by Air Canada’s larger Dreamliner, the Boeing 787-9. It will also become the only direct service between Canada and India.

“Air Canada’s strategy to grow its Toronto Pearson hub and international presence is taking a major step forward with the addition of Delhi to our extensive global network,” said Calin Rovinescu, president & CEO of Air Canada.

“We will be offering the only non-stop flight from Canada to India using our newest Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which are revolutionising long-haul air travel. The operating economics of these new aircraft make this service feasible and it will be the first route dedicated to the larger, 787-9 version of this aircraft, which begin entering our fleet in 2015.”

The new route will operate four times a week, departing Toronto every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 2055, and arriving in Delhi at 2115 the following day. The return leg will then leave the Indian capital at 0045 every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday, and get back to Toronto at 0500 the same day.

Three of the weekly flights will operate using the B787-9 Dreamliner, with the fourth using the smaller B787-8. Read more...
