This itinerary covers the following destinations : Cochin - Munnar - Kodaikanal - Madurai - Thekkady - Trivandrum - Kovalam - Trivandrum.

Day 1 : Reach Cochin
Reach Cochin - This city, with one of the finest natural harbours in the World, has been Kerala's center of trade for innumerable centuries. With its beautiful setting on a cluster of islands, narrow peninsulas and a long history. Get a traditional welcome reception with Aarti and flower garlands. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 2 : Cochin
Start the day with a tour of the city. Cochin has one of the oldest churches in India, 500 years old Portuguese houses, cantilevered Chinese fishing nets, the historical Palace built by the Portuguese, Jewtown, complete with immaculately preserved Synagogues. Also visit the Mattancherry Palace, built by the Portuguese. Most important are the astonishing Murals, depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabaratha and puranic legends connected with Lord Shiva, Vishnu, Krishna Kumara and Durga. These beautiful murals rarely seem to be visited, although they are one of the wonders of India. Later return to the hotel.

Day 3 : Cochin - Munnar (By Road 4 hrs.)
Proceed for Munnar which is located in the Idukki district of Kerala State in India. The word "Munnar" means the meeting point of three Rivers (Madurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala).During the British rule in India, Munnar was the summer resort of the Government officials. There are about 30 tea plantations in and around Munnar. The tea estates, hills, lakes and forests inside Munnar range enhance its scenic beauty. The Munnar Hills are covered with tea plants which give it a serene look. Later in the afternoon explore Munnar and the various tea estates. Return to the hotel.

Day 4 : Munnar - Kodaikanal (Travelling time : 4 hrs)
Proceed to Kodaikanal: Without a doubt, the prettiest Hill Station in South India. The little town is set around a star shaped lake. green wooded hills, scenic walks and waterfalls make it a beautiful summer retreat at an altitude of 2100 meters. Later, visit Kodaikanal Lake, Coaker's Walk, the Astrophysical Observatory, Fairy Falls, and Kurinji Andavar Temple. Just relax amidst the scenic & serene surroundings. Return to the hotel.

Day 5 : Kodaikanal - Madurai (Travelling time : 4 hrs)
After breakfast depart for Madurai. Madurai is one of the oldest cities of India. The city is famous for is rich heritage and promoting Tamil language through "Sangams". The city has been in existence since about 4th Century B.C and is mentioned in ancient texts of Greeks, Romans and Arabs. Arrive and check into the hotel. In the evening, visit the local market to shop for souvenirs. Madurai is popular for handloom Sungidi sarees , brass works, Tanjore paintings, handicrafts and antiques. Pudumandapam is an old mall (about 500 years old) of sorts, where you can find tailors, books, handicrafts and bronze items in quaint little shops. Return to the hotel.

Day 6 : Madurai
In the morning, visit Madurai city, which is the cultural capital of South India. It has been the centre of learning and pilgrimage for centuries. Visit the thousand-pillared Meenakshi Temple, which is an excellent example of Dravidian architecture, with Gopurams or multi pillared halls, covered from top to bottom, in a profusion of multi coloured images of Gods, Goddesses, animals and mythical figures. It is one of the most lively Temples of India. In the afternoon, visit the Tirumalai Nayak Palace, which was built in the year 1636. In the evening, you will get a chance to attend the Temple's night ceremony with melodious music when Lord Sundarasvehvara (an incarnation of Shiva) goes to rest beside Meenakshi. Return to the hotel.

Day 7 : Madurai - Thekkady (Travelling time : 3 hrs)
Proceed for Thekkady or Periyar National Park set high in the ranges of the Western Ghats in Kerala. The park is centered around the large (24 sq km) artificial lake formed by a dam across the Periyar river. Set high in the ranges of the Western Ghats, is the Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve. Periyar wildlife sanctuary has a picturesque lake at the heart of the sanctuary. Check in to the hotel. In the afternoon you would set out to discover the Periyar National Park. One may spot the gaur, wild pigs, sambar, barking deer, mouse deer, dole or Indian wild dog and very rarely, a tiger. There are now an estimated 40 tigers inhabiting this area. Four species of primates are found at Periyar - the rare lion-tailed macaque, the Nilgiri langur, common langur and the bonnet macaque. Periyar also happens to be the habitat of the elusive Nilgiri Tahr, but this is rarely to be seen.The birdlife here comprises of darters, cormorants, kingfishers, the great Malabar Hornbill and racket-tailed drongoes. The reptilian population boasts of monitor lizards which can be spotted basking in the sun, on the rocks along the lakeshore. Visitors who trek into the Periyar National Park may often see a python and sometimes if you are lucky, even a king cobra. Return to Hotel.

Day 8 : Thekkady - Trivandrum - Kovalam
After breakfast proceed for Trivandrum, the capital of the state of Kerala, it is a beautiful seaside city built on seven hills. The famous Sri Padmanabha Swami Temple dedicated to the Lord Vishnu is a landmark in the city. On arrival proceed for a visit to the Zoological Gardens : One among the best designed in Asia, set among woodland, lakes, and well maintained lawns. This Zoo opened in year 1843, as a concept of Palace for wildlife. Padmanabhapuram Palace: The palace is superbly constructed of local teak and granite, and stands within massive stone town walls. The architecture is exquisite, with rosewood ceilings carved in floral patterns, windows laid with jewel floral patterns, windows laid with jewel coloured mica, and floors finished to a high polish with a special compound of crushed shells, coconuts egg white and the juice of local plants. Next, continue your journey to Kovalam with sandy beaches, the cool breeze that silently ruffles the coconut lagoons and the lush waves that extend an embracing welcome. The exotic beach resort in Kerala that has its history blended into the warm sands of time. There are hundreds of stories of valour, love and suffering wanting to be told in the backyards of history. On arrival check into the hotel.

Day 9 : Kovalam
Enjoy the entire day at leisure to catch up on a little sun bathing on the beach or just simply enjoy a relaxing Ayurvedic Massage at a Spa.

Day 10 : Kovalam - Trivandrum
Transfer to Trivandrum airport to board a homebound flight.
