This itinerary covers the following destinations : Colombo - Sigiriya - Polonaruwa - Kandy - Nuwara Eliya - Ratnapura - Bentota - Colombo
Day 1 : Fly to Colombo
Rendezvous at Heathrow airport. Depart for Colombo. Night on board.
Day 2 : Colombo
Reach Colombo, Welcome and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon visit the colonial Port capital, Colombo. It has Old Dutch churches, ornate Hindu and Buddhist Temples, Cinnamon Gardens, local bazaars of Pettahs, National Museum, Parliament House, the Fort and the Zoological Garden.
Day 3 : Colombo / Sigiriya
The 5th century Rock Fortress atop a very high hill here is also known as the Fortress in the Sky! . Many frescoes of heavenly maidens depict the grandeur of the Kasyapa kingdom.
Day 4 : Sigiriya - Polonaruwa / Sigiriya
Visit Giritale and the ancient city of Polannurwa.
Day 5 : Sigirya / Kandy
Enroute to Kandy, visit spice gardens and Dambulla, a World Heritage Site – the 1st century Rock temples. In Kand, visit the Tooth Temple, Gem Museum and Peardeniya Garden.
Day 6 : Kandy / Nuwara Eliya
The scenic drive to the picturesque Nuwara Eliya, “ the City of Lights” is through tea covered misty mountains and waterfalls. Visit the Tea Estates, tea factory and Rose Gardens. It is a nostalgic reminder of the English Country side.
Day 7 : Nuwara Ellya / Ratnapura / Bentota
Ratnapura is the city of Gems, you shall visit a gem mine and learn about the age old method of gem mining. Thereafter, proceed to the Bentota route and visit the Dutch city of Galle and Ramparts. Bentota is a romantic rendezvous of the river and the Sea famous for its Golden beaches.
Day 8 : Bentota
Relax at Bentota
Day 9 : Bentota / Colombo.
Morning at your disposal. Depart for Colombo.
Day 10 : Colombo / Next Destination
In the morning leave for the airport for your final destination called Home!
