The Horton Plains
The Horton Plains are close to Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka's highest and most isolated plateau. Home to many wild but harmless animals and home of many species exotic of birds. The Horton Plains National Park is the only National Park situated in the Hill Country.
Yala National Park
Situated at 309 kilometers South of Colombo, Yala National Park is located in the South Eastern corner of the island. Its Northern boundary borders on the Lahugala Elephant Sanctuary and its added beauty is a scenic ocean frontage.
Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage
At this orphanage you will find elephants of all ages which have been abandoned or otherwise unable to fend for themselves as they are injured or too old to live on their own. The unique feature is that one may feed the baby elephants with bottles of milk during feeding time. The elephants are also given a bath daily in a river located across the orphanage, an interesting sight to watch!
