Day
1 : Reach Delhi
The colour & romance of India welcomes you with arms wide open as you reach Delhi. The color and the aroma of Indian spices and Indian tradition get hold of you in a moderate yet a fascinating way. The capital of India, Delhi, is one of the most alive places in the whole world with a pinch of Indian culture and heritage and two of its monuments- the Qutab Minar and the Humayun's Tomb, have been declared as the World Heritage Sites. For a first timer to India, it serves as a perfect start to a journey towards cultural wealth, different religious beliefs, complexities and the dynamism of India. Meeting and assistance once you arrive, thereafter leave for the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 : Delhi / Bagdogra / Darjeeling
The morning starts with a ride to the airport for a flight to Bagdogra. Arrival and continuation by the road towards Darjeeling, queen of the mountains, through a landscape of hills capped with tea plants. Once you arrive, check in at the hotel. Rest of the day would be all yours to let the beauty of the place sink in and later a walk around the Mall to bring in your shopping instincts. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 : Darjeeling
In the morning visit the highest spot in the area at a height of 2590 m popularly known as Tiger Hills which is near Ghoom, about 11km from Darjeeling. The hill is famous for its magnificent and brethtaking dawn when the sun touches its peak, over Kanchenjunga and other eastern Himalayan peaks. On a clear day even the Mount Everest is visible. Later an excursion to the Observatory hill & Tibetian refugee camp. Rest of the day at your disposal.
Day 4 : Darjeeling / Pemayangtse
Morning procced for Pemayangtse - The mighty Kanchenjunga overlooks the land of Sikkim and Pemayangtse in Sikkim, nestles close to Kanchenjunga. Pemayangtse is not a settlement. This is where 6000 ft above sea level one of the most spectacular Buddhist monasteries is located. The Pemayangtse monastery is the second oldest monastery in Sikkim and is the headquarters of the Nyingma sect. Also, proceed for an excursion to the Tashiding Monastery near Pemayangtse.
Day
5 : Pemayangtse / Gangtok
Morning proceed to Gangtok, The state of Sikkim lies in the shadow of the mighty Kanchenjunga and its capital, Gangtok which is a picturesque mountain clinging town with monastaries, parks, pagoda style houses and colourful bazars. Upon arrival check in at the hotel.
Day 6 : Gangtok - Phodung Gangtok
Start your morning with a visit to the Monastery at Phodung, enroute stop for panoramic view of the Himalayas. Later return to Gangtok. Later in the afternoon visit Research Institute of Tibetology that contains splendid old books, objects sacrings, superb painted tankas.
Day 7 : Gangtok - Tashiding Gangtok
The next morning proceed for another excursion.
Day 08 : Gangtok
The Morning breakfast would be at the hotel. Later in the afternoon visit the Chorten, Enchey Monastery, Tashi View Point, Dharma Chakra Centre (Rumtek) and Saramsa Garden.
Day 09 : Gangtok / Kalimpong
The next morning proceed to Kalimpong - Situated at an altitude of 1250 metres between the Deolo and Durbindra Hills, Kalimpong is an ideal place for a quiet holiday amidst gently rolling hills and deep valleys at the foot of the mighty Himalayas.
Later in the afternoon visit Durpin Dara, Flower nurseries, Gouripur House & Tibetan Monastery.
Day
10 : Kalimpong / Bagdogra / Delhi (flight)
Early morning head back to the Bagdogra airport for a flight to Delhi. Once you hit Delhi, a city tour of New Delhi would drive past the stately government buildings of the British Era designed by Lutyens, including the India Gate & the Presidential Palace. Continue your journey to the enchanting Humayun's tomb of the Mughal era & predecessor of the world famous Taj Mahal. The last leg of your journey would be the towering Qutab Minar, what better way to bid goodbye to a country with different shades where each shade has a different story to narrate. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11 : Depart from Delhi
The next morning, departure for the airport, assistance with the boarding formalities. Take-off for your destination.
