Jaisalmer Desert Festival
15 Nights/16 Days

Once in a year during the winter season, the sands around Jaisalmer comes alive with the vibrant colors, music and laughter of the Desert Festival. Dressed in brilliantly hued costumes, the people of the desert, dance and sing haunting ballads of love, valour and tragedy. The Jaisalmer Fort, made of yellow sandstone, provides an ethereal backdrop. This fair celebrates the traditional performing arts and creative crafts of Rajasthan.

DAY 01: Arrive in Delhi
Upon arrival in Delhi meeting and assistance followed by transfer to hotel. Overnight in Delhi
 
DAY 02: Delhi
Breakfast at the hotel and proceed for city tour of Old & New Delhi visiting Jama Masjid Mosque,Red Fort, Raj Ghat Mahatma Gandhi Memorial, Humayun's Tomb, Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Parliament House & Secretariat Buildings. Overnight in Delhi.
 
DAY 03: Delhi - Mandawa
Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Mandawa. On arrival in Mandawa check-in at hotel. Afternoon visit some of the beautiful historic mansions (havelis), with their spectacular coloured murals and frescoes. Overnight in Mandawa.

DAY 04: Mandawa - Bikaner
Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Bikaner. On arrival check-in at hotel. Later visit the Camel Breeding Farm, and 15th century Fort and Museum. Overnight in Bikaner.
 
DAY 05: Bikaner - Jaisalmer
Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Jaisalmer. On arrival in Jaisalmer check-in at hotel. Jaisalmer is located in the middle of the Thar Desert. Overnight in Jaisalmer.
 
DAY 06: Jaisalmer
Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the entire day at the Desert Festival in Jaisalmer. The festival is a showcase of the performing arts and crafts of Rajasthan. The melodious tunes and rhythms of the folk musicians and amazing folk dance performances by renowned artists create a spellbound effect on spectators. Overnight in Jaisalmer.
 
DAY 07: Jaisalmer
After breakfast day to explore Jaisalmer. 
In the evening visit Sam Sand Dunes. The ripples on the wind-caressed dunes, that create an enchanting mirage, are surely a delight for a trigger-happy photographer. Exciting camel safaris allow you to get the real feel of the desert on the camel back. Overnight in Jaisalmer.
 
DAY 08: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur
Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Jodhpur. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Afternoon city tour of Jodhpur visiting Mehrangarh Fort, situated on a low sandstone hill, including Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal. Later visit Jaswant Thada, Overnight stay in Jodhpur
 
DAY 09: Jodhpur – Udaipur via Ranakpur Temple
Breakfast at the hotel. Later proceed for Udaipur, en-route visiting Ranakpur Jain temples, Ranakpur is one of the five holy places of the Jain community. On arrival in Udaipur check-in at hotel. Overnight in Udaipur
 
DAY 10: Udaipur
Today explore Udaipur - the city of dawn. Udaipur is a lovely land around the azure water lakes, hemmed in by the lush hills of the Aravalis. Visit City Palace, Jagdish Temple and Sahelion-Ki-Bari. Afternoon common boat ride on lake Pichola. Overnight in Udaipur.
 
DAY 11: Udaipur – Pushkar
Drive to Pushkar, on arrival check-in at the hotel. visit Pushkar lake, and The Panchkund, a Brahma temple located here is a popular place of pilgrimage. Overnight in Pushkar.
 
DAY 12: Pushkar – Jaipur
Breakfast and drive to Jaipur. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Afternoon sightseeing of Pink City Jaipur, visit City Palace, a blend of Mughal and Rajasthani Architecture. Jantar Mantar - an observatory. Hawa Mahal (palace of winds). Overnight in Jaipur.
 
DAY 13: Jaipur
In the morning visit Amber Fort and enjoy an elephant ride on to the ramparts of the fort -is studded with small mirrors which reflect flame in a thousand flickering lights. Visit the labyrinth of the palaces in the Fort. Overnight in Jaipur
 
DAY 14: Jaipur / Fatehpur Sikri / Agra
Breakfast, proceed to Agra, En route visit Fatehpur Sikri –the abandoned capital of the Mughal Empire. On arrival in Agra, check-in at hotel. Overnight in Agra.
 
DAY 15: Agra / Delhi
In the morning proceed to visit the World famous Taj Mahal - monument of love and Agra Fort. Afternoon drive to Delhi.  On arrival, check-in at hotel. Overnight in Delhi
 
DAY 16: Delhi – Depart Delhi
After breakfast at the hotel the day it at leisure or you can opt for some last minute shopping. In the evening  transfer to international airport to connect flight for onward destination.

THE ABOVE IS INDICATIVE COST BASED ON 02 PERSONS TRAVELING TOGETHER AND VALID FROM 01 OCT’15 TILL 31 MARCH’16. THE INDICATIVE COST INCLUDES:

  • Accommodation in Twin / Double Sharing Room for  15 nights/16 days at 3-4 star Hotels on bed & breakfast basis.
